“Let It Be” – The Beates, I need an experienced musician’s analysis of one chord!!!?

Okay, the song is diatonic enough excluding that Bb that shows up before the solo and in the coda and whatnot. But that’s not what concerns me. What concerns me is the chord Paul plays on the piano in one of the later verses. It shows up at:

2:58 on the album version, right on the Mo of “Mother Mary comes to me”

2:59 on the Past Masters Volume II version, on the same syllable

I am fairly certain it does not show up in the Anthology 3 version.

Anyway there’s a certain level of magical dissonance to this one playing of the chord (that “should” be Am but sounds different in Paul’s piano playing) and I’m wondering what Paul is playing during this. It may have been a mistake but it sounds like a truly amazing one, haha

It’s an F major chord. I’m pretty sure it’s a mistake. He breaks rhythm and hits the Am twice after it, which tells me he was thinking “Oh crap, Am! Am everyone! I’m playing Am!”

He hits the A and E in the left hand too… throughout the song he’s playing root position chords with 5ths in the left hand. He just messed up and hit an F major chord in the right… it sorta makes it an Am(add 11)… or a first inversion Fmaj7
